2012 24 Hour Film Challenge Winner Announced

“Hola Marbella” by Andres Mata has won the prestigious 24 hour MIFF award.

This year the festival took its challenge on Line and offered a truly global opportunity for film makers from all over the world to participate in this exciting event, by taking part in the challenge from where ever they live, participants as far as USA, Mid.East, Europe, Japan, Russia, and UK took the challenge to make a short movie in 24 hours, based upon subject matter and specific instructions from the challenge team, immediately before the clock started running.

It was however the Spanish team of Andres Mata, who managed to get the thumbs up from the judges and become the winners of this year.

The awards ceremony shall be held shortly in Marbella. Our congratulations to Andres and his team and our best wishes to all other participants for having taken the challenge.

Filmmakers gathered to celebrate the end of the 2012 Festival at a glamorous Gala Awards Ceremony last night, 7th October, hosted at the H10 Andalucia Plaza Hotel. Details of the nominations and winners will be posted on the website shortly.

The quality of the films being screened at the Festival this year is at an all time high. Hollywood legend Elliott Gould will star in a feature film which is screening later today, 6th October, and Christopher Lambert appeared in a European Director´s debut film that screened earlier this week.

Loose Women star Andrea McLean made her acting debut in a film screening at this years 2012 Marbella Internationl Film Festival. Mother of two Andrea surprised audiences with her debut movie role as sex-mad therapist Dr Andrea Grey who prowls bars and clubs seducig both men and women.

Stunt Lady Drops in Safely!!

We are delighted to have professional stunt performer Amanda Foster attending the Festival this year. Amanda has dominated the film and TV industry appearing in over 250 feature films, television, commercials and video productions. She has recently completed filming for the highly anticipated “World War Z” staring Brad Pitt.
