The 2012 MIFF is to be extended to five days
3rd - 7th October 2012

The festival director announced that due to the continued support of the festival by film makers,  the increased number of submissions and demand for additional screenings “on or off competition”,  as well as requests for workshops and fringe activities, the 2012 MIFF will now be held over 5 days, from 3rd to 7th October  2012.


2011 MARBELLA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL ENDS WITH AN EXCITING GALA AWARDS CEREMONY

The 2011 Marbella International Film Festival lowered its curtains on Sunday, October 16th during a glamorous  Gala Awards ceremony at Puerto Banus, the celebrations were attended by local dignitaries, celebrities, festival delegates, international filmmakers & press.
During a live broadcast the nominations and winners of the 2011 MIFF were announced, these were:

Marbella International Film Festival offers Internship

In line with the ethos of MIFF, to support the film enthusiasts and offer them the opportunity to discover the commercial side of the industry, the festival is offering limited internship in its administration team.


This is a part time and an expenses only position, suitable for a person who likes to gain experience in operation of an international film festival and generally get involved in promotion and PR side of the film & TV industry.
The position is available in London and Marbella. The right candidate must be competent in IT, operating website and graphic design, self motivated and be prepared to work on his/her own.


This is a 6 months project and although it is based upon flexi time, it requires full commitment from the candidate. The successful candidate will receive certificate of internship, will have a great opportunities to network with film makers and members of the industry and shall attend the festival as part of the festival team in October 2011. MIFF-2011 closes, plans begin for 2012 MIFF

Marbella International Film Festival ends with a slick Gala Ball:
Over 200 guests attended the awards ceremony of MIFF 2011 held at H10 Andalucia plaza hotel on 16th October 2011. Among many celebrities and dignitaries were 100 or so International film makers who were delighted with the response from the audiences, and the successful networking during the festival.

The 24 hour film challenge was one of the most successful challenge ever held with local and international participants creating some outstanding work.

The prestigious awards for 2011 MIFF in the categories of Animation, Shorter shorts, Longer shorts, Documentaries, and Features were presented to the talented film makers. details

Plans for 2012 MIFF have already started,for a longer and bigger festival in October 2012. Make a note in your diaries!


The Successful Marbella International Film Festival Summer Program delights the audiences

In collaboration with the Marbella Town Hall, the Marbella Casino, Target Events and the H10 Andalucia Plaza Hotel, the Marbella International Film Festival held a week long screening of films from its past festivals in open air cinema at Plaza Antonio Banderas in Puerto Banus, with audiences apprising the outstanding films presented.

The films shown were a mixture of shorts, animation, documentaries and full length, from the UK, Spain, USA, Italy, Iran, India, Ireland, Russiaand many other countries.

It was the first time the festival has held outdoor screening in Marbella, as part of its world tour, and which for many spectators  it became a nightly event during the week long evening shows.

It is anticipated that due to this successful collaboration, the open air screening by Marbella International Film Festival , will now become an annual event during the August, bringing cultural evenings free of charge to Puerto Banus and its visitors.

The summer program has been an anticipation of the 5th edition of the Marbella International Film Festival which will be held Oct. 15-17 at the Hotel H10 Andalucia Plaza.  Screening over 40 films from the international cinema in competition, with many films premiering in Marbella, along with return of the much publicised  “24 hour Film Challenge” open to all interested filmmakers and many fringe activities.

The inaugural red carpet party at the Casino on 15th October was attended by celebrities and film makers from all over the world and the Awards ceremony gala Dinner brought the festival to end on 17th October.


THE WORLD TOUR:
SUMMER SCREENING IN MARBELLA

August 23 – August 29, 2010

The Marbella International Film Festival, are pleased to announce their summer screening program. In collaboration with the Town Hall of Marbella, the Marbella Casino, the Hotel H10 Andalucia Plaza and Target Events, a week of free screening has been organized in Antonio Banderas plaza in Puerto Banus.

Each evening from Monday, August 23 to Sunday August 29 starting at 9:30 pm, the festival offers some of the outstanding works from the international Cinema, free of charge for the pleasure of general public.

The award winning films from the past festival years scheduled for screening this August were from Spain, UK. U.S.A, Russia, Germany, Italy, Iran, Afghanistan, Argentina, Denmark, Ireland and India. There were short films, animation, documentaries and feature films in the original version with English or Spanish subtitles.
