“The event will take place from October 4 to 8 at the Teatro Goya in Puerto Banús, with the participation of thirteen countries and the presence of well-known filmmakers

The Goya Theater in Puerto Banus will once again become the stage of the Marbella International Film Festival, which this year marks its 12th edition with the screening of some thirty films from thirteen different nationalities.

The delegated councilor of Nueva Andalucía, Cristóbal Garre; the head of Culture and Education of the City Council, Carmen Díaz, the director of the festival, Mac Chakaveh, and the president of the Goya Theater Group, Luis Miguel Martín, presented today at the Consistory the event that will meet famous actors of the international scene.

Garre has detailed that the festival will be held from Wednesday, October 4, until Sunday, day 8, and is a bet for the tourism seasonality of Marbella when celebrated once the summer season. “We are grateful for this initiative that attracts many visitors to our city”, said the mayor.

For its part, Carmen Diaz has congratulated both the venue of the Goya Theater and the organization for “achieving a cultural level programming as this festival and have managed to maintain it for twelve years.” In addition, “there is a response to the important Anglo-Saxon community of the city so that they do not feel visitors but protagonists in our municipality,” he stressed.

The director of the festival thanked the support of the City Council and the Goya Theater Group and detailed the nationalities of the films presented at the festival: United States, United Kingdom, Spain, Iran, Argentina, Japan, India, Ukraine, Brazil, Austria, Holland, Italy and Georgia. Tickets, which range between 8 and 15 euros, can be purchased on the website www.marbellafilm.com .

On October 6 and 7, the festival will bring together several actors from the international scene, including Craig Fairbrass, star of the film ‘Rise of the footsoldier’, recorded in Marbella. Also scheduled is the presence of Timothy Spall, one of the actors of Harry Potter or Calum Best, who will present a documentary about his father, footballer George Best.

Other actors and professionals in the film industry will be Michelle Collins (EastEnders), Terry Stone, Emily Wyatt, Marc Warren (Hustle / The Vice), Madelaine Vale, or producer Andrew Loveday (The Last Assault / A Lonely Place to die).”
